ASSUMPTIONS NPS returns are market-linked, so the expected return is an assumption, not a guaranteed rate. At age 60 you may withdraw up to 60% as a tax-free lump sum; the remaining 40% must buy an annuity, whose payout depends on the annuity rate offered by the insurer. Small-savings reference rates are for the Jul–Sep 2026 quarter and are revised quarterly by the Ministry of Finance. Figures ignore fund management charges.
